Tragedy: a tragedy by Will Eno
Directed by Patrick Jordan
May 21 - 23, 2021 (live), May 26 - 30, 2021 (on demand)

It is night, the sun has set, will the light ever return? Fortunately, we have an intrepid news team covering events both real and imagined in this existential news broadcast. Reporting live on an unfolding crisis, Frank in the Studio is aided by his team of field reporters: John in the Field, Constance at Home, and Michael, the Legal Adviser. As the impending event approaches and chaos builds, the broadcasters reveal themselves to be all too human. In an era during which many have come to question the veracity of the news media, Will Eno hilariously transcends fact-and-fiction in search of universal truths about the world we live in.

Soundtrack including “They’re After You” Theme and “Car Chance” by Andre Louis. Check out more of Andre’s music and performances on his YouTube Channel.

Not only does Eno’s dead-on parody of newsy foolishness recall the fake news so popular of late (such as the faux newspaper The Onion), but the fuzzy chaos that unfolds touches on recent tragic events and how they have been handled by the media. And in the end, we realize that real life is absurd too.
